I have been a member of Deviant Art for almost three years....and love every minute of it. The funny thing is, I knew NOTHING about Fractal Art when I first came. I was actually looking for art that was about the Japanese Anime "BLEACH". It was this painting
by Abyss-Valkyrie that actually brought me here.
I presently oversee the wonderful fractal work at and am enjoying every minute.
Then I discovered FRACTALS! And I was hooked. I use mainly the Apophysis 7x 15B program, but am working on learning Ultra Fractal and Mandelbulb. In the Apophysis program I mainly use the settings on what is called Dihedral forced symmetry to create the iconic and mandala shaped images. Here are a few of my personal favorites from my gallery:
As you can see...the Apophysis program is pretty versatile....even if you just stay in "forced symmetry"!!
If anyone has questions about using the Dihedral function....just ask!

Manipulation Challenge 3
For our 3rd Manipulation Challenge I thought you might like to work with the tutorials of a master manipulator ~rockgem (https://www.deviantart.com/rockgem) Gem has produced several tutorials on this subject and you can use any or all of them.
I picked this one because it has a minimum of shapes and eyes can of course be made as intricately as you like in UF. MB3D Photoshop, PSP etc. But, as stated above you can use any of her tutorials though the fractal content must be your own. The background can be a fractal scene or a free graphic but please give credit to the creator in your details if it isn't your own. You may also, of course, use your own shapes

Manipulation Challenge 1 - May/June
Greetings to you, fellow travellers on the fractal path.
The admin of #DOUBLE-DUCKS (https://www.deviantart.com/double-ducks) have decided to try some manipulation challenges. This idea was suggested by :icongigi50: and we will be using some of her works in the future.
For our first challenge I have selected a piece from a wonderful couple of artists who work together and are called :iconAmytea:
I picked this piece for it's colour qualites and sharper details, which could well be appliqued in Gimp, Photoshop, Paintshop etc.
Romantica abstract painting (in progress).
You should be able to use most fractal software to produce a manip. You can, for instance, make a gradien
